Norden Community Primary School welcomes people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. We are open from 7.30am till 10pm Monday to Friday plus weekend and holidays.
Norden is a state, community school. Our impressive facilities which include extensive playing fields, a large sports hall, a dedicated drama and music room, a fully equipped teaching kitchen and craft areas such as pottery, art and woodwork are used by our 437 pupils and the wider community. Norden public library and a Surestart Children's Centre share our site.
The school is situated on Shawfield Lane, just off Edenfield Road in Norden Village which is 2 ½ miles north of Rochdale. We are surrounded by lovely countryside. As quoted in Lancashire Life, "It goes without saying that the school contributes a great deal to the life of the village.”
The school is a two-form entry mixed primary school with a Nursery which means we can take up to 60 children in each year group. We have achieved many awards including the FA Charter Standard, Activemark Gold, Healthy Schools Award, Green Eco Flag, Extended Schools Award and the Golden Grin! We were shortlisted for the Education Business Awards in 2011.
