School Uniform

We have a school uniform.  This consists of a white polo neck top with a red sweatshirt or cardigan.  The girls wear a grey skirt, pinafore dress or grey/black trousers, and boys grey trousers.  No one is allowed to wear jeans.  For summer  a red/white check or striped dress of any style for the girls.  Footwear should be sensible black or brown shoes or sandals (no high heeled shoes) with white or grey socks or tights.  Trainers should not be worn as school shoes.  Fleece jackets and hats are also available; these, however, cannot be worn inside school.

The uniform can be obtained from chain stores, so supplies should not be a problem. Sweatshirts and T-shirts with the school logo are available from Monkhouse Uniforms on Drake Street in Rochdale.
The need for outdoor activities will require wellingtons and waterproofs for Reception and Nursery children.

P.E. Clothing

All children require pump bags, pumps, plain white t-shirts and black shorts and clothing should be clearly labelled with their name. PE kits should be left in school and will be sent home when they need a wash.

When taking part in gymnastics or dance lessons it is safer for the children to have pumps or bare feet.  Outdoor activities are an essential element of the PE syllabus hence warm, waterproof sports clothing is essential.  During games lessons it would be useful to provide a plain dark track/jogging suit and trainers.

If your child has a medical reason why they cannot take part in PE or Games, a note must be sent to their class teacher with the reason for their absence.  If your child has a foot complaint, please inform the teacher so that suitable arrangements can be made for them to continue to participate in PE lessons.

Hair

Hair should be worn in its natural colour and without styling substances such as gel and wax added.  Extreme hair styles are not acceptable e.g. ‘skinheads’, ‘tramlines’,’mohicans’.  Hair beyond shoulder length should be tied back.
