Due to their composition, some of these letters are produced in pdf format and will be displayed in a new browser page or tab.
Adobe Acrobat Reader, which is on most computers, is needed to access these documents, but it is freely available here if you don't have it

| Problems Seeing Pop-ups - Spring Term 2009 |
We use pop-ups to make important announcements from our home page - like problems with the weather!. Unfortunately, many browsers are set, by default, to block these.
If your browser blocks a pop-up, you normally get a narrow banner across the top of the page telling you that it has been blocked and offering you the choice of allowing it.

Click on the banner and choose "allow blocked content", then answer that you DO want to!
A better and more permanent solution is to allow popups for sites you trust (like Norden!). Assuming you are using Internet Explorer, click on "tools" in the top menu bar then click on "Pop-up Blocker" (about 7 items down) and then choose "Pop-up Blocker Settings" where you get the exceptions dialogue box.
|
In the top box, marked "Address of website to allow", type the web address of the school (www.norden.rochdale.sch.uk) then click the ADD button by the side. The address will now be added to the Allowed Sites box. Click the Close button at the bottom of the menu page.
If you look at more than one school, you can "trust" all Rochdale school sites by typing "*.rochdale.sch.uk" instead of the school address - the asterisk acting as a wild-card.
If you don't use IE, your browser tools menu will contain something very similar.

| Introduction - Autumn Term 2009 |
Our Web Site
If you are new to our web site we hope it will contain all the information you could ever want, with up to date pictures and details of each class and their activities as well as standard information about the school, plus all the courses and activities run by our community office.
On this page you will be able to find all the letters which we send home, so no more hunting in the bottom of bags or flattening the contents of shirt pockets fresh out of the washing machine. If you've lost it or never received it, it will be here!
Viewing the site
The site is tested in all the major browsers -
Internet Explorer 7 & 8, Firefox 3, Opera 7 & 9 (do not use version 8 as there are jasvascripting bugs), Netscape 7 & 8.2 and now, Google Chrome
The site makes use of Javascripting and so, if you have javascript disabled in your browser you will not be able to enjoy full functionality. Most of the photographs on the site have larger versions which can be viewed by clicking on the picture. You can close the larger version by clicking anywhere.
|
We are aware that not everyone has broadband and we try to restrict the size of each page. The pictorial content of the class pages, however, does mean that these pages could be a little slow to view on a dialup connection - we hope they are worth the wait! The size of the enlarged photos is usually 50-60Kb so they are not too big for general viewing.
Parents and guardians should be aware that website pictures of school life and pupils will abide by the school code of practice which means that:
-
No photograph will depict a child in a situation that could cause embarrassment
-
Photographs will be of a general nature depicting children taking part in all aspects of school life
-
The context will never enable a child to be identified by name
-
All photographs will be considered by the school to be in ‘good taste’
-
Parental requests to remove a picture or not to include their child in website photographs will be acted upon promptly.
